[EN] The aim of this paper is to rethink the relations between progress, civilization and barbarism from the current crisis of capitalistic civilization. Leaning on the analysis of critical theory, and considering that the increasing difficulties of the valorization of value as well as the imminent socio-ecological crisis seem to lead to a dead-end, the sole workable understanding of “progress” today seems to be the “sabotage of fate”; but to what extent is it possible?
