Consideraciones sobre el poder en la escritura personal de autores laicos de la España de los siglos XVI-XVII

Abstract

La comunicación describe, comenta e intenta daSlficar la amplia gama de posicionamientos respecto del poder que es posible encontrar en los escritos personales con contenido político de la España de los siglos XVIXVII, cuya existencia pretende de paso recordar. Se trata de registros heterogéneos que adoptan la fonna --o el envoltorio- de subgéneros diversos: memorias, diarios, relaciones, autobiografías... Algunos resultan bien conocidos, otros lo son mucho menos; en todo caso, han sido hasta el momento escasamente estudiados como conjunto. Los textos analizados, limitados por motivos de espacio a los de autores laicos, han sido objeto de una relectura sistemática atenta a cualquier consideración, ya consciente ya inadvertida, que puedan contener respecto del argumento de búsqueda. El orden en que son presentados sirve al tiempo para clasificarlos y esbozar conclusiones: dados sus objetivos y destinatarios, no abunda en ellos la crítica directa al poder, aunque puede aparecer en determinadas piezas autojustificativas y se encuentra diáfana en el caso de unos pocos fraguados en situaciones excepcionales, como la clandestinidad o el exilio.
