Abstract

Las principales formaciones volcánicas se han creado por el ascenso y erupción de magma. El magma asciende desde las profundidades terrestres e interactúa con la roca encajante antes de llegar a la superficie, lo que provoca cambios de presión y de esfuerzos en el área adyacente. Las deformaciones a las que dan lugar estos cambios son el reflejo de distintos procesos de origen tectónico, magmático e hidrotermal, de difícil observación y registro, que se producen en el interior del medio. En este sentido, el desarrollo de modelos para la predicción de deformaciones permite establecer una relación directa con los procesos observados en superficie.
