Indicadores bioquímicos para evaluar la calidad del suelo bajo distintos sistemas de laboreo

Abstract

En un suelo agrícola, se define “laboreo” como el conjunto de operaciones realizadas para la modificación de la capa superficial con el fin de mejorar las condiciones de la misma y conseguir una adecuada cama de siembra y/o raíces. Las modernas tendencias de laboreo no sólo tienden a reducir la profundidad de las labores, sino también su número. A pesar de esta tendencia, todavía se distinguen tipos de laboreo muy diferentes, desde el tradicional, que consta de muchas operaciones de manejo y una mayor profundidad, hasta la siembra directa, definida “laboreo cero” o “no laboreo”. En este trabajo se estudian varios parámetros bioquímicos como las actividades enzimáticas (β-glucosidasa, deshidrogenasa) y los fosfolípidos de membrana (PLFA), junto con parámetros químicos como el carbono hidrosoluble, y el Carbono y Nitrógeno total como indicadores de la calidad de un suelo bajo no laboreo (NL), laboreo reducido (LR) y laboreo tradicional (LT) analizados antes de la siembra y después de la cosecha de una leguminosa (Vicia faba L.). El estudio se ha llevado a cabo en la finca La Hampa, en el experimento de comparación de laboreo a largo plazo que se estableció hace 10 años. Los resultados han permitido por un lado cuantificar el efecto del laboreo y de una planta fijadora de nitrógeno sobre la distribución de las comunidades bacterianas en el suelo (PLFA) y sobre su funcionalidad (actividades enzimáticas), y por otro establecer la validez de esos parámetros como indicadores de calidad del suelo en experimentos de comparación de laboreos.
