UU.
[EN] Authors who started their lyrical career after the Spanish Civil War faced a dictatorial context that suppressed any ideology dissenting from that of Franco’s dictatorship, as Gabriel Celaya (1911-1991) did. Likewise, Fascism relegated women to the private space of the home, so being a poet for Gloria Fuertes (1917-1998) meant a double dissidence, for being a woman and an individual contrary to dictatorship. This article explores, by means of Gloria Fuertes’s first collection of letters ever published, the intimate space shared by these two authors and its influence on the public sphere through the collaborative literary networks they established. The publication of these letters bears witness to Gloria Fuertes’s beginnings at writing, her personal aspects and her experience as a lecturer in the US.
