Abstract

[ES] Es conocido desde hace tiempo que las hembras de algunos crustáceos acumulan carotinoides en los ovarios cuando se aproxima la madurción sexual. Así Abeloos y Fischer (1923, 1927) comprobaron que la hembra de Carcinus maenas transfiere las reservas de carotinoides acumuladas en el hepatopáncreas, a los ovarios a través de la sangres, quedando sólo trazas del pigmento en los hepatopáncreas y sangre.
