Abstract

El estudio realizado ha tenido por centro la descripcion y analisis del devenir de la antropologia, globalmente considerada, en la cataluña del siglo XX, en concreto en el periodo 1915-1970. los margenes temporales se han fijado en funcion de dos eventos significativos y claves en la constitucion de la disciplina: 1) la creacion del "arxiu d'etnografia i folklore de catalunya" en 1915, institucion fundada por el Dr. Tomas Carreras i Artau en la Universidad de Barcelona. 2) la llegada del Dr. Claudio Esteva Fabregat a la Universidad de Barcelona en 1968, momento a partir del cual la disciplina -antropologia cultural- entro ya definitivamente en el medio academico. La tesis ha estado dividida en dos bloques: 1) arxiu y su tiempo, y 2) la antropologia de postguerra en cataluña. En el primer bloque o capitulo se realiza un repaso a todo el acontecer del "arxiu d'etnografia": bases, bio-bibliografia del fundador, ciencias conexas, relacion de la institucion con el noucentisme, etc. En el segundo bloque se han repasado las instituciones y personas que durante este periodo han trabajado en las ciencias antropologicas, en especial las del area cultural. el objetivo final ha sido demostrar la existencia de un continuum disciplinar desde su arranque en el siglo XIX con el folklore, continuum que se presenta diferencial y sustancial, con especificidad propia.
