Los intentos de potenciar la industria y la economía en la ciudad de Burgos durante el siglo XVII

Abstract

La decadencia y lento declive que vivió la ciudad de Burgos durante la segunda mitad del siglo XVI y todo el siglo XVII produjo dentro del regimiento de la ciudad distintos proyectos que pretendían aumentar la población, la industria y el comercio. Muchos de ellos se centraron en la lana, y más en concreto en aprovechar el potencial lanero regional para incentivar la creación de pequeñas industrias textiles de géneros de mediana o baja calidad, que a su vez mejorarían el comercio y aumentarían la población local. Casi todos los proyectos tenían en común la llegada de artesanos extranjeros con nuevas técnicas productivas y telares.
