Hidrogenolisis de glicerol con catalizadores de rutenio soportado sobre diferentes materiales

Abstract

El glicerol se obtiene como subproducto en la producción de biodiesel, con una selectividad del 10%. Para revalorizar los excedentes del mercado se han desarrollado importantes procesos catalíticos orientados, algunos de ellos, a la obtención glicoles, que son ampliamente demandados como materia prima en la fabricación de polímeros, plásticos, combustibles de automoción y productos agrícolas y farmacéuticos. En estos procesos, llevado a cabo con metales soportados, el rutenio resulta ser el más activo, aunque con una baja selectividad a 1,2-propanodiol, que es el producto más buscado. Se ha conseguido mejorar la selectividad a 1,2-propanodiol empleando aditivos que modifican las propiedades geométricas y/o electrónicas del rutenio. Dichas propiedades pueden ser modificadas, también, utilizando soportes con capacidad para interaccionar con el metal. Se estudia en este trabajo el comportamiento de diferentes catalizadores de rutenio soportados sobre carbón activo, grafito, nanotubos de carbono y zeolita KL en la hidrogenolisis de glicerol.
