Nuevos Ent-labdanos de especies Dominicanas de Eupatorium

Abstract

La delimitación del género Eupatorium basada en datos morfólogicos y de cromosomas es un problema aún sin resolver. En 1987, estudios llevados a cabo por King y Robinson a partir de una combinación de datos morfológicos y biogeográficos delimitaron este género a un total de 45 especies distribuidas por América del Norte oriental incluidas las Antillas, Asía Oriental y una única especie europea (E. cannabinum) distribuyendo el resto de especies entre 11 de las 18 subtribus reconocidas (Austroeupatorium, Stomatanthes, etc.). El estudio químico de las diferentes especies del género Eupatorium estudiadas, tomando como base de partida la clasificación llevada a cabo por King y Robinson, pero considerando también todas aquellas especies que, en la bibliografía, aparecen como pertenecientes a este género, ponen de manifiesto un predominio de las lactonas sesquiterpénicas del tipo germacranólido y guayanólido. Otro grupo estaría constituido por aquellas especies en las que los compuestos químicos mayoritarios son los diterpenos con predominio de los labdanos. Este hecho nos permite considerar tanto las lactonas sesquiterpénicas como los diterpenos como caracteres quimiotaxonómicos en el estudio de la clasificación en los diferentes géneros. El estudio químico de especies de Eupatorium endémicas de la República Dominicana con el fin de aportar datos que ayuden a su clasificación, concretamente E. obtusissmum y E. dictyoneurum (I, II, III) han dado como resultado una serie de entlabdanos nuevos en la bibliografía. Determinados derivados semi-sintéticos de entlabdanos presentaron actividad citotóxica frente a la línea de leucemia humana HL-60
