La recluta en tiempo de crisis. La remonta de caballos en el interior de Castilla durante la Guerra de Sucesión Española

Abstract

El presente estudio tiene por objeto poner de manifiesto las dificultades de reclutamiento que se vivieron en un momento tan convulso como la guerra de Sucesión española en el interior de Castilla a consecuencia de la falta de hombres, el endeudamiento de los concejos y la duración del conflicto, para ello nos hemos centrado en el caso de la ciudad de Cuenca y su partido. Por otro lado, hemos intentado valorar la falta de previsión para la realización de la remonta de caballos en los años finales del conflicto y el papel desempeñado por un noble conquense como el II marqués de Valdeguerrero para que esta pudiese llevarse a cabo con éxito pese a la falta de control que parece que la caracterizó.

El presente estudio forma parte del proyecto de investigación: “Familias, trayectorias y desigualdades sociales en la España centro-meridional, 1700-1930” referencia HAR2017-84226-C6-2-P del que es Investigador Principal D. Francisco García González y que ha sido posible gracias a la financiación concedida por el Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Competitividad
