Heterocycles containing oxygen and nitrogen are the main structural unit present in a wide range of biologically active natural products. In our research group we have worked extensively in the synthesis of oxa- and azacycles of different size developing new methodologies in a sustainable context. Later, we have applied this methodology in the synthesis of several bioactive natural products. In this presentation, we will show recent examples of such methodologies, and its application in the synthesis of natural products and relatives.
