Abstract

[EN] Vilanova y Piera contacted during his European trip with well-known naturalists from severa) countries, mainly French naturalists. Among these latter, it is to pointing up its relationship with d'Orbigny who had a scientific hold over Vilanova due to the importance and influence over the science of this French naturalist. A historical case of the d'Orbigny idea of "fossil remanié" taken up by Vilanova y Piera and translated as "fósil removido" for a specimen from his collection (19th century) is expounded based on the information on the accompanying label which this naturalist had included in the study of the collection.
