La viabilidad del modelo social europeo

Abstract

El Modelo Social Europeo (MSE) se legitima en la pervivencia de los Estados del Bienestar (EBs). En el orden global, la lógica del MSE contrasta con la de otros sistemas alternativos: el “neoesclavismo” emergente asiático y la emercantilización individualista anglo-norteamericana. Las implicaciones de la Gran Recesión iniciada en 2007-08 continúan siendo importantes para la supervivencia de los EBs y el MSE. De la sintonía y acuerdo de las grandes corrientes ideológicas europeas (cristianodemócratas y socialdemócratas, principalmente) dependerá en buena medida la viabilidad futura del MSE.
