[EN] The present invention belongs to the field of the chemical industry, more specifically to the field of conversion of biomass to a solid polymer product with added value. The invention provides a method for preparing biopolymers in which the quantity by weight of phenol has been at least partially substituted by a cheaper renewable waste material. This method is characterised in that it comprises a hydrothermal carbonisation step of the lignocellulosic biomass and the subsequent addition of a total quantity of one or more phenolic compounds and a total quantity of aldehyde, followed by the thermal treatment of the resulting product.
