Abstract

Se da cuenta de los principales resultados de investigación del proyecto ‘Nuevos Riesgos Sociales y Trayectorias de las Políticas Sociales’ (NURSOPOB) 1. En las páginas que siguen, y en los sucesivos capítulos, se exponen ideas, análisis e interpretaciones sobre las reformas de las políticas sociales y del Estado del Bienestar en España en los últimos 25 años, período que corresponde aproximadamente a 1984-2008. Dentro del campo amplio de las ciencias sociales las aportaciones del presente libro se concentran en las tradiciones analíticas de la ciencia política y de la administración, la economía social y política, y la sociología. No se trata tanto de teorizar o caracterizar las transformaciones Estado del Bienestar en España, asunto sobre el que ya existe publicaciones más o menos comprensivas 2, sino de explicar por qué, y en qué medida, han cambiado las políticas sociales constitutivas del sistema de protección social español.
