Aproximación a la bastardía de los Trastámara aragoneses en la época de los Reyes Católicos

Abstract

La familia de los Trastámara aragoneses fue especialmente prolífica en cuanto a hijos ilegítimos. Durante el siglo XV tuvo lugar en Europa el fenómeno denominado “la era de los bastardos”, situación en la que multitud de hijos naturales de familias nobles obtuvieron puestos de gran relevancia política. La presente comunicación pretende trazar las líneas principales que siguieron los descendientes del rey Juan II, el príncipe de Viana don Carlos y Fernando el Católico. De esta manera, se espera asentar unas bases para un estudio posterior que permita ver paralelismos en el desarrollo vital de estos personajes, tan apenas estudiados. Todo parece indicar que a los hombres se los destinó preferentemente a la Iglesia y a las mujeres, a matrimonios con nobles de alta alcurnia.

El presente trabajo ha sido desarrollado con un contrato FPU del Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte; dentro del Proyecto HAR2014–52434–C5–2 “Elites políticas y religiosas, sacralidad territorial y hagiografía en la Iglesia hispánica de la Edad Moderna” del Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad y del Grupo de Investigación Consolidado “Blancas” del Gobierno de Aragón.
