Abstract

[EN] The description of Saprinus (Microsaprinus) canariensis Yélamos and Ferrer, 1989 is presently extended and the lectotype is designated. The main distinctive characteristics between this species and Saprinus (Microsaprinus) therondianus Dahlgren are based on the morphology of the eighth abdominal sternum of males, of the aedeagus, and of the metasternal lateral and mesopostcoxal striae.

[ES] Se amplía la descripción y se designa el lectotipo de Saprinus (Microsaprinus) canariensis Yélamos y Ferrer, 1989. Se diferencia básicamente de Saprinus (Microsaprinus) therondianus Dahlgren por la morfología del octavo segmento abdominal de los machos, del edeago y de las estrías metasternal lateral y meso-postcoxal.
