Zona Pirenaica

Abstract

[EN] The present paper is the second part of a study of the soil oribatid fauna of Huesca province (Aragón, Spain). The first part was devoted to the oribatid mites collected from the Pre-Pyrenean mountains. This second part deals with the oribatid fauna from the Pyrenean zone, at a considerable height over sea level. A total amount of 5,011 specimens were llected from 12 samples. These specimens belong to 137 species, 5 of which are new for Science (Epidamaeus pyrenaicus sp. n., Insculptoppia lamellata, sp. n., Montizetes delamellatus sp. n., Passalozetes inzperfectus sp. n. and Hemileius humeralis sp. n.), and other 2 are new subspecies, namely (Cerachipteria digita pyrenaica ssp. n. and Eupelops torulosus macroporosus ssp. n.). New records for the Iberian peninsula are the following: Phthiracarus affinis (Hull, 1914), Liochthonius alpestris (Forsslund, 1958), Zetorchestes flabrarius Grandjean, 1951 and Lepidozetes singularis Berlese, 1910. An Appendix with the English description of the new taxa has been included.
