[ES] En el presente trabajo se describe al macho de Formica subrufa Roger, 1859; el cual había sido descrito concisamente y con dudas por EMERY (1909). En base a la morfología de las tres castas y a aspectos de tipo etológico se incluye a este especie en un nuevo subgénero que denominamos Iberoformica aludiendo a la distribución preferente de esta especie, siendo así apartada del subgénero Serviformica Forel, 1913 en el que había sido incluida hasta ahora.
[EN] In this paper the male of Formica subrufa Roger, 1859 is described. It had been described concisely and with doubts by EMERY (1909). This species is included in a new subgenus that is named by us lberoformica, according to the morphology of the three castes and aspects of the ethologic sorts, and with the preferential distribution of this species, being in that way separated from the subgenus Serviformica in which it had been included until now.
