Viudas hacendadas y labradoras: la propiedad femenina en el noreste andaluz a mediados del siglo XVIII (el Reino de Jaén)

Abstract

Este trabajo ha sido financiado gracias a la concesión de una beca para la Formación de Profesorado Universitario (FPU), por el Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte (MECD). El trabajo se inserta en el marco del Proyecto de Investigación “Familia y comunidad rural: mecanismos de protección comunitaria en el interior peninsular (ss. XVIII-1900)” (con referencia HAR2013-48901-C6-5-R), Plan Nacional I+D del MINECO, cuyo Investigador principal es José Pablo Blanco Carrasco. Cuenta, además, con la cobertura científica del GEHSOMP, Grupo de Investigación catalogado de la Junta de Extremadura. Dpto. de Historia (Área de Historia Moderna), Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, Universidad de Extremadura. Avenida de la Universidad s/n. 10.003 Cáceres (España).

Abordamos la riqueza de la viuda hacendada jiennense a mediados del siglo XVIII. Las fuentes utilizadas para abordar esta cuestión son los Libros de Bienes y Memoriales de Legos correspondientes al Catastro del Marqués de la Ensenada. A través del método de análisis cuantitativo, realizamos un trabajo de investigación en varias vertientes: por un lado, estudiamos la representatividad de la viuda hacendada y de su patrimonio en el Reino de Jaén; y, por otro lado, realizamos una aproximación a las características de sus posesiones: bienes inmuebles y semovientes.
