Estudio de la actividad ruminal de ovejas merinas en régimen de pastoreo en diferentes épocas del año

Abstract

La mayoría de los trabajos llevados a cabo en animales rumiantes en pastoreo se han centrado en el estudio del comportamiento ingestivo de los animales y en la selección que éstos realizan del pasto (Hodgson, 1989). Sin embargo, no debe olvidarse que los procesos que acontecen en el rumen afectan en gran medida a la ingestión de los animales. Por ello, en este trabajo nos planteamos el estudio de la actividad ruminal en ovejas merinas en régimen de pastoreo, eligiendo para ello tres épocas diferentes del año: junio, agosto y octubre.
