Mallas impregnadas con insecticidas: un nuevo método para el control de plagas de cultivos hortícolas

Abstract

En este trabajo se evaluó la eficacia de la malla impregnada con insecticida PA2001-01060/. Como método de control físico-químico contra insectos plaga y sus virus asociados en cultivo de repollo. El ensayo se realizó en Villa del Prado (Madrid) en el otoño de 2002, empleando un diseño de bloques al azar con 4 repeticiones y 2 tratamientos (con y sin malla). En cada parcela se contabilizó el número de insectos fítofagos existentes sobre las plantas, el número de pulgones y otros homópteros capturados con trampas tipo Irwin y pegajosas amarillas. Para la prospección de virus se tomaron muestras de plantas sintomáticas que se analizaron mediante el test ELISA. En la cosecha se comparó el peso medio de los repollos entre tratamientos. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron una menor incidencia en el número y daño ocasionado por larvas de Lepidópteros y en el número de pulgones capturados en ambos tipos de trampas en las parcelas protegidas con malla. Sin embargo no se observarón diferencias significativas en cuanto al número de capturas de Aleyrodes proletella L. y cicadélidos sobre los trampas pegajosas amarillas. El número de adultos y puestas/planta de A. proletella fue significativamente mayor en las parcelas testigo. La infección viral fue baja y por tanto no pudieron realizarse comparaciones entre tratamientos. Los virus detectados fueron LMV,CMV,BWYV,TSWV y AMV. No hubo diferencias significativas de rendimiento (peso medio/planta) entre los tratamientos. Los resultados indican que este tipo de malla con algunas modificaciones pueden ser una buena alternativa para el control de plagas del repollo
