Abstract

[EN] Studies of the pituitary gland of Spicara chryselis (Maenidae) were made using a variety of cytophysiological tecniques. Seven cell types were identified in the adenohypophysis. They were prolactin, ACTH and TSH cells in the rostral pars distalis; STH and GSH cells in the proximal pars distalis; and MSH and PAS +(Os) cells in the pars intermedia.
