Efecto de la textura del suelo sobre diferentes parámetros bioquímicos

Abstract

Al producirse la degradación de un suelo, su estado biológico es el que primeramente se ve afectado y como consecuencia se produce una disminución del poder productivo del mismo. En general, el manejo de los sistemas agrarios, ha supuesto no sólo una disminución de la materia orgánica y de la actividad biótica edáfica, que a su vez dependen de la disponibilidad de nutrientes, sino de la energía aportada por la materia orgánica del suelo y de los residuos incorporados por los cultivos y los animales. En igualdad de condiciones ambientales se debe prever que en los suelos de texturas más gruesas, al disponer de mayor aireación, el proceso de degradación sea mayor. En este trabajo, se exponen los resultados de tres años (2000-03) en dos suelos con textura diferente (arcilloso y franco-arenoso) y propiedades químicas semejantes. Se estudia el efecto de una rotación de barbecho-cebada-veza enterradatrigo duro, en manejo ecológico, sobre la biomasa microbiana, su actividad respiratoria, la evolución de la materia orgánica y el nitrógeno mineral del suelo. Los resultados indican una mayor cantidad de biomasa microbiana en los suelos arcillosos, en cambio los franco-arenosos, al tener mayor aireación ponen a disposición de los cultivos mayor cantidad de nitrógeno mineral, por la mineralización de la materia orgánica. La mayor mineralización también produce una mayor cantidad de biomasa vegetal que se incorpora al sistema, por lo que no se puede concluir que las texturas más gruesas sean más sensibles a la degradación.
