[ES] Una serie de observaciones ajenas y propias, a cuya exposición se dedicarán otros artículos, sugieren la existencia de una regla biológica de validez general que relaciona el tamaño del cuerpo y sus proporciones con la temperatura. Para una comprobación experimental de esta regla empírica se escogieron algas clorofíceas, en virtud de una serie de consideraciones : el tratarse de organismos unicelulares permite una mayor sencillez interpretativa, la temperatura modifica en ellas las dimensiones y la forma, son fáciles de cultivar y existen bastantes datos publicados sobre diversos aspectos de su fisiología, aunque no relativos al que aquí interesa de manera especial.
