[EN] We have studied, the relationship between scale-length (from center to internal margin) and fish-length in the pilchard (Sardina pilchardus [Walb.]) in Castellón waters (eastern cobst of Spain). In this study, only fishes from 110 to 160 mm., have been utilized, the internal scales are obtained from the sub-dorsal región, two or three ranges of scales under the middle line. Statistically is proved that the homogeneity of the three scales is sufficient for characterize the fish. [...]

Para ello en peces de 110 a 160 mm., se tomaron tres escamas internas a la altura de la aleta dorsal y dos o tres filas de ellas por debajo de la línea media. Por métodos estadísticos se halló que la homogeneidad de las dimensiones de las tres escamas es suficiente para caracterizar al ejemplar. [...]
