Algunos ostrácodos de las aguas continentales del NE de España

Abstract

Escasos son los datos existentes en la literatura científica sobre ostrácodos de agua dulce y salobre de España. Las citas concretas que conocemos van incluídas en los trabajos de Bolívar (1892), Pardo (1920, 1924, 1926), Arévalo (1924) y Brehm (1925) y en total comprenden un conjunto de 10 especies. La presente contribución hace subir este número a 21, incluyendo dos especies mencionadas en otro trabajo del autor, pendiente de publicación. No hay duda que esta cifra es pequeña todavía, ya que precisamente no nos equivocamos por exceso al atribuir a la fauna de ostrácodos de agua dulce de nuestra península un número de especies de 4 a 5 veces mayor que el actualmente conocido. Probablemente en España se encontrarán novedades y especies de gran interés científico, especialmente entre los géneros más evolucionados, de furca reducida y dimensiones pequeñas, que parecen ser los más ricos en formas en esta latitud y clima. La base para la redacción de esta nota la han constituido principalmente ostrácodos encontrados de manera incidental entre material de algas. Algunas especies de los géneros Candona, Eucypris y Potamocypris han quedado todavía por determinar.
