Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) is an important grain legume for the human nourishment; it is organized in two genetically differentiated gene pools - Andean and Mesoamerican. The genome of the Andean variant was recently published by Schmutz et al. Here we present the genome of Mesoamerican pool, line BAT93. Our assembly is 549.6 Mb which is close to the previously estimated genome size. For the mis-assembly correction we have constructed genotype profiles with 60 F5 GBS lines of a BAT93/Jalo intercross. High quality Illumina RNAseq data was used to generate gene transcriptional atlas and for gene annotation. Additional evidence for genes was 454 transcriptome data from plants grown under optimal and stress . Proteomes from 14 plant species was used to reconstructed P. vulgaris phylome (the complete collection of phylogenetic trees for each gene).
