Amplitud y desarrollo histórico del tema.- Los intentos de compendiar en unas pocas proposiciones la influencia de la temperatura externa en la mofogénesis de los organismos han sido muy limtados. A pesar de lo interesante del tema, los resúmenes publicados (cf. CHAPMAN, 1931; HESSE et al., 1937; BELEHRADER, 1935) resultan incompletos y no llegan a generalizaciones adecuadas para ser utilizadas corrientemente en taxonomía y ecología.
