Abstract

La Corona de Corporales está situada a 1 km. al NE. del pueblo del mismo nombre, a los pies de la Sierra del Teleno y prácticamente sobre la línea montañosa que separa las cuencas de los ríos Eria (afluente del Esla) y Cabrera (afluente del Sil) en la provincia de León (Foto 1; SÁNCHEZ-PALENCIA, 1980, Figs. 2 y 3). Junto con los castros zamoranos en curso de excavación por parte de Esparza (ARQUEOLOGÍA 79, n? 405 y 408; 80, n.° 339 y 340; 81, n? 308 y 309 y 82, n? 316), es el único castro prerromano excavado sistemáticamente dentro del territorio astur meseteño o interior.
