Abstract

[EN] In this article we will show the results obtained in the second stage of the project: «Research and valorisation of mining areas and civitates in NE Portugal» (MinCiNEP II). During this phase we have concentrated on the municipality of Mogadouro, located on the Planalto Mirandes. We have identified four new mining areas that may have been in use during Antiquity. Changes in the settlement pattern have been confirmed by a very early appearance of epigraphy, and an evolution during the Early Empire. This record indicates a territorial and social -and maybe administrative- similarity between the Planalto Mirandes and the Spanish area of Aliste.
