En la literatura zoológica existen dos trabajos de gran valor sobre los Gammaridea españoles dulciacuícolas; me refiero a los de Ferrer Galdiano (1921) y Spandl (1926), que prácticamente resumen cuanto sobre tan interesantes crustáceos se sabía. Las líneas que siguen pueden contribuir al mejor conocimiento de las especies oculadas, que aun ofrece ancho y prometedor campo a la investigación futura, ya que, como se verá, la fauna de la Península Ibérica es de las más interesantes, por entrecruzarse sobre ella las áreas de dispersión de variados tipos sistemáticos.
