Abstract

La teoría cuántica está construida en torno a la dualidad campo-partícula que adquiere formulaciones diversas en la mecánica cuántica, teoría cuántica de campos o gravedad cuántica. Si sabemos que partículas y campos difieren dramáticamente de sus contrapartidas clásicas, aunque no resulte del todo claro cuando una teoría cuántica de campos describe partículas adecuadamente. Feynman dijo una vez: >Do not take the lecture too seriously, feeling that you really have to understand in terms of some model what I am going to describe, but just relax and enjoy it.> Salvando enormes distancias, con mucha osadía, esta charla quiere seguir ese camino, revisando la visión actual del dilema. Tal vez al final salgamos discutiendo si los constituyentes elementales de la materia son campos o partículas, o ambos a la vez, o ni lo uno ni lo otro - y sus implicaciones.
