[CAT] La investigació pesquera no ha deixat d'ésser una ciència conflictiva i ben segur que no ha assolit encara l'adequat nivell de comprensió i definició d'objectius: per molts és un estudi de les espècies explotades, per d'altres s'hi afegeix la descripció de la flota pesquera utilitzant parametres representatius com puguin ser el poder de pesca i l'esforç de pesca. [EN] A short rapport is given on the fishing situation in the Catalonia coast, paying a special attention to the fishing effort in pelagic as in demersal fisheries. The main fishing studies and a very abridged evaluation of the present resources are also mentioned
