[EN] This article seeks to open up new ways of analysing the “events of October 1934” in Spain, concentrating especially on the role of new social actors, such as youth, and also enquiring into how we can deepen our understanding of what was called “fascism” in that period. The article stresses the importance of integrating research on these particular events in Spain, as well as on Spain’s broader process of contemporary historical change, into the European context in which they occurred and to which they were related.
