Abstract

Dentro de la sección Heteromera de Cucujoidea, una de las familias menos claramente definida es Melandryidae. Es sintomático que, al enumerar, a sentimiento, media docena de géneros como ejemplos de atribución dudosa, Crowson (1955: 113) cita dos, Stenotrachelus y Mycetoma, considerados como Melandryidae en estado imaginal por la sistemática clásica.
