Síntesis de ciclopropanos funcionalizados a partir de ésteres grasos insaturados

Abstract

Se conocen ácidos grasos de origen natural que poseen anillos de ciclopropano en la cadena hidrocarbonada, pero únicamente se han descrito algunos ejemplos en la literatura de ciclopropanación de derivados de ácidos grasos. Se ha preparado un ciclopropano sin funcionalizar a partir de oleato de metilo mediante reacción de Simmons-Smith, o por ciclopropanación con diazometano catalizada por Pd. Existe un único ejemplo de ciclopropanación de oleato para obtener un ciclopropano funcionalizado, utilizando diazoacetato de etilo y un catalizador de Cu. Sin embargo, este tipo de ciclopropanos funcionalizados pueden ser precursores interesantes para materiales, como poliésteres o poliuretanos, por su núcleo de ciclopropano rígido, sus cadenas flexibles y una disposición angular de los grupos funcionales.
