Abstract

[EN] Interrelationship between multiple sensors is essential for the complementary use of images from different satellites to obtain time series of vegetation indexes, tool used for the identification and monitoring of crops. This paper examines the relationship between the NDVI, SAVI and VARI vegetation indexes derived from Landsat-8 images and recent Sentinel-2, and shows the calibration equations between both satellites obtained for agricultural areas. Four pairs of images are used to determine this relationship by means of graphs of dispersion, adjustment functions and statistical test. Although the values of the indices obtained with one satellite or other are not very different, there are statistically significant differences that advise the calibration when the vegetation indexes are calculated using reflectance derived from Landsat-8 L1T and Sentinel-2 level 1C products. It is recommended to complete the study with more pairs of images for more robust calibration functions.
