Abstract

[ES] En seis estaciones situadas sobre la plataforma continental, cerca de Punta Endata, se tomaron mensualmente muestras de varias profundidades para determinación de clorofila y recuento de células de fitoplancton. Los niveles más altos de biomasa fitoplanctónica se registraron en primavera y se debieron a dos máximos de población sucesivos; el primero, producido por especies del género Thalassiosira, estuvo asociado con el comienzo de la estratificación de la columna de agua y con un aumento de la concentración de fosfato que tuvo lugar en marzo-abril; el segundo máximo, debido principalmente a Prorocentrum balticum, comenzó en mayo y duró hasta julio.
