Síntesis y reactividad de nuevos complejos mixtos fosfina-carberno N-heterocíclicos de osmio

Abstract

La preparación de complejos mixtos o heterolépticos con ligandos de características similares, pero con propiedades complementarias como fosfina y carbeno N-Heterocíclico, es un reto puesto que la estabilidad de estas especies mixtas decrece conforme aumenta la congestión estérica alrededor del centro metálico, debido a que se favorecen los procesos de disociación que desembocan en reacciones de redistribución. El carácter insaturado y la naturaleza catiónica de los complejos [OsHCl(CPh)(IPr)(PR3)]OTf (PR3 = PiPr3, PPh3) parecen estabilizar las unidades mixtas R3P-Os-IPr con respecto a las mezclas de especies (R3P)2Os y (IPr)2Os. El objetivo principal de esta Memoria ha sido encontrar situaciones estabilizadas respecto a las homólogas homolíticas, que nos permitiesen investigar nuevos procesos y tipos de compuestos poco estudiados debido a su baja estabilidad. Principalmente nos propusimos descubrir nuevas reacciones y nuevos complejos organometálicos. Hemos conseguido la sustitución formal de un ligando cloruro por un ligando hidróxido en medio acuoso básico. El complejo resultante [OsH(OH)(CPh)(IPr)(PiPr3)]OTf promueve la síntesis de derivados carboxilato mediante adición deshidrogenativa de aldehídos al ligando hidóxido. A partir del derivado [OsH(OH)(CPh)(IPr)(PiPr3)]OTf se ha aislado y caracterizado el primer complejo bis-(σ-borano) de osmio. La sustitución del ligando hidróxido por un ligando cloruro es determinante para la formación especies Os(2-H-B-alquilo) generadas por hidroboración del triple enlace metal-carbono de los complejos [OsH(OH)(CPh)(IPr)(PR3)]OTf y posterior activación del enlace B-H de los correspondientes derivados alquilborano. Se ha desarrollado un procedimiento sencillo para la síntesis derivados hexahidruro mixtos partiendo de los complejos [OsH(OH)(CPh)(IPr)(PiPr3)]OTf vía trihidruro-cloro y trihidruro-tetrahidroborato. Asimismo, se ha desarrollado un procedimiento sencillo para la síntesis de derivados alquilidino de osmio planocuadrados estables partiendo de los complejos [OsHX(CPh)(IPr)(PiPr3)]OTf (X = Cl, F). Hemos preparado complejos de 16 electrones alquilideno pentacoordinados de osmio como resultado de la adición del enlace C(sp)-H de alquinos terminales al triple enlace Os-C de los derivados planocuadrados y hemos demostrado que la transformación hidruro-alquilidino a alquilideno sigue el mismo patrón electrónico que las oxidaciones de d8 a d6.
