Estudio de reacciones en tándem para la obtención de 9(10)-cetoestearato de metilo

Abstract

La transformación de la cadena hidrocarbonada de los ácidos grasos posee un enorme potencial para obtener productos de alto valor añadido, por ello se han descrito en la literatura un buen número de reacciones, principalmente sobre los dobles enlaces C=C de los ácidos grasos insaturados. Ejemplos interesantes de estas posibles reacciones son la reacción de epoxidación y la posterior transformación del epóxido formado para dar un grupo cetona. En esta comunicación presentamos un método alternativo, sostenible y novedoso para la obtención de cetoestearato por transposición del epóxido del oleato en un proceso tándem y catalítico. Para la reacción de epoxidación del oleato de metilo se ha utilizado un catalizador de Ti soportado y como oxidante hidroperóxido de terc-butilo, y para la reacción de transposición se han ensayado distintos tipos de sólidos ácidos como catalizadores, por ejemplo, nafión-sílice SAC-13. En la combinación de ambas reacciones en un proceso tándem, sin purificación intermedia, se ha obtenido un rendimiento global superior al 98%. Además, cabe destacar que ambos catalizadores se pueden reutilizar varias veces, lo que mejora la sostenibilidad del proceso.
