Abstract

Desde la descripción de splendida por Rambur (29), las opiniones de los autores acerca de si se trata de una buena especie o es coespecifica con dubia (Tausch.) han estado muy divididas. El primer criterio lo mantuvieron Rosenhauer (33), Oberthi.ir (26). Zapater (45) (46), Korb (i8) (i9) (45) (46), Powell (26), Rothschild (34) (35) y Zerny (47). Han postulado el segundo Lederer (20), Staudinger (40) (41), Ribbe (3i) (32), Spuler (39), Strand (42), Seitz (37), Weiss (43), Navás (23), Gaede (i4), Bry1( (1), Hörhammer ( 1 7) y 'Nordman (24). Estudiando los trabajos de Chapman se llega a la conclusión de que consideraba a dubict y a splendida ,zomo una sola Orgya, pues aunque en sus opúsculos (2) (4) (6) (7) menciona a la segunda aisladamente, en el (3), y sobre todo en los (8) y (9), indica con claridad que admite una única especie. Fernández, en 1920 (12), consideró a splendida coespecífica con dubia, pero en 1933 ( 13) la mencionó como buena especie. Duponchel (lo), Graslin (15), Navás (22) y Reisser (3o) indicaron Orgya dubia de España, lo que implícitamente significa que consideraban a splendida coespecífica con ella.
