Aplicación de pirólisis analítica para el estudio de la repelencia al agua en suelos arenosos del parque Nacional de Doñana

Abstract

La repelencia al agua es una propiedad de algunos suelos que reduce o retarda la infiltración del agua en el suelo (Doerr et al., 2000; Jordán et al., 2013). Como consecuencia, la repelencia al agua del suelo posee un gran impacto sobre los procesos hidrológicos y erosivos o la dinámica del agua en el suelo. La reducción de la capacidad de infiltración conduce al encharcamiento, ocasionando procesos de flujo hortoniano superficial o incremento de la tasa de formación de escorrentía, aumentando el riesgo de erosión del suelo (Leighton-Boyce et al., 2007; Shakesby et al., 2000; Sinoga et al., 2010). La existencia de un horizonte repelente al agua (Figura 1) facilita la aparición de frentes irregulares de humectación del suelo y de vías de flujo referencial (Zavala et al., 2009). Por otra parte, la capacidad del suelo para retener contaminantes puede verse reducida como consecuencia de la repelencia al agua, lo que incrementa el riesgo de contaminación de aguas subterráneas (Hardie et al. 2013; Nguyen et al. 1999; Ritsema & Dekker. 2000)
