Abstract

[EN] The cloroplast number per stomata was analyzed in trisomic plants from two primary trisomic series of sugar beet, Beta vulgaris L., one being homozygous autodiploid, and the other heterozygous. There was a clear influence of the extra chromosome present in each trisomic type on the number of chloroplasts in the guard cells of the stomata. There was a significant increase in the number of chloroplasts for some types, but there was also a significant decrease for other types. In all diploid and trisomic plants the number of chloroplasts was smaller for the homozygous genotype. However, the same relative effects were observed on both series, there not being any interaction between trisomic type and genotype on the number of chloroplasts in guard cells per stomata.
