Die mit praecipuum simon verwandten arten der gattung Neobisium (Pseudoscorp.)

Abstract

Im südlichen Europa, besonders auf der nördlichen Balkanhalbinsel, sind mehrere grosse Neobisium-Arten beheimatet, die im allgemeinen auf engstem Raum lokalisiert sind und sich zum Teil habituell ausserordentlich ähnlich sehen. Ihre Unterscheidung macht daher oft grosse Schwierigkeiten, um so mehr, als viele dieser Arten recht selten zu sein scheinen und meist nur in wenigen Exemplaren zur Untersuchung gelangen. Dadurch ist es fast unmöglich, einen Einblick in die Variationsbreite der einzelnen Arten zu erhalten, was wiederum ihre Abgrenzung gegeneinander sehr erschwert und die Gefahr einer Individuen- Beschreibung mit sich bringt, eine Gefahr, die noch dadurch erhöht wird, das die betreffenden Formen .zum Teil ziemlich plastisch zu sein scheinen und auf Isolierung und Umwelt anscheinend leicht durch morphische Veränderungen reagieren. Es erscheint daher angebracht, diese Arten, deren Zahl sich seit meiner monographischen Bearbeitung im «Tierreich» (1932) wesentlich vermehrt hat, einer kritischen Durchsicht zu unterziehen und unter Beriicksichtigung neuer Merkmale zusammenfassend zu behandeln.
