Biocontrol de la podredumbre de raíz y corona de plantas de fresa Trichoderma spp.

Abstract

Recientemente se ha detectado a Fusarium solani como patógeno emergente produciendo la podredumbre de raíz y corona en el cultivo de fresa en España, disminuyendo su crecimiento y mermando la capacidad de desarrollo y producción. Con el objetivo de reducir estos efectos, se ha realizado un estudio de biocontrol de la enfermedad con 34 aislados monoconídicos de Trichoderma spp. En primer lugar se realizaron cultivos duales en placas de Petri con PDA, enfrentando cada uno de los aislados de Trichoderma con cuatro aislados de F. solani, situando en cada placa un disco de micelio de cada uno de los microorganismos. Se observó aislados de Trichoderma que tenían un crecimiento sobre las colonias de F. solani y uno de ellos creó un halo de inhibición sobre el patógeno. En segundo lugar se realizaron cultivos en celofán para comprobar la posible liberación de metabolitos de Trichoderma al medio de cultivo que pudieran tener efecto de biocontrol sobre el patógeno. Primeramente transferimos discos de micelio de Trichoderma en el medio PDA con celofán, que se incubaron en oscuridad a 25ºC durante 3-5 días, tras los cuales se retiraba éste. A continuación se colocaron los discos de F. solani sobre el medio de cultivo y se midieron los crecimientos radiales diarios de las colonias del patógeno. En el 50% de los aislados de Trichoderma se lograron inhibiciones significativas de dicho crecimiento que oscilaron entre 20 y 35% respecto al testigo para los cuatro aislados ensayados. Con estos resultados se han seleccionado aislados de Trichoderma potenciales agentes de biocontrol de la enfermedad, que se están constatando mediante bioensayos de inoculación artificial de los antagonistas en plantas de fresa de los cvs. Andana y Chandler inoculadas previamente con F. solani.
