Muerte regresiva de ramas en el cultivo del aguacate y mango

Abstract

Desde hace unos años se viene observando en las plantaciones comerciales de aguacate de la costa sur de España (Málaga y Granada), árboles que presentan chancros en ramas de árboles jóvenes y muerte regresiva en ramas de árboles adultos, en el periodo de Junio a Septiembre. Estos síntomas también se han observado en 2015 en árboles de mango de 2 años cultivados bajo plástico en un invernadero comercial. En 2014 se prospectaron 14 fincas, recolectando un total de 185 muestras de ramas sintomáticas de aguacate y en 2015 seis muestras de ramas en árboles de mango bajo invernadero. Las muestras se lavaron y se desinfectaron superficialmente con hipoclorito sódico al 20%. Se cortaron trozos pequeños de la parte interna de la corteza y del tejido xilemático de los márgenes de las lesiones y se realizaron aislamientos en PDA acidificado. Las pruebas de patogenicidad se realizaron en ramas de plantas de aguacate de 1 año de edad para los aislados procedentes de aguacate y sobre ramas de mango para los procedentes de este cultivo, observándose la patogenicidad de todos los aislados. La formación de picnidios se indujo en placas de Agar-Agua con acículas de pino e incubadas a 25ºC bajo luz UV y se midió la longitud y anchura de las conidias. Posteriormente se realizó la extracción de ADN, amplificación, secuenciación e identificación de los hongos aislados. Se obtuvo como agentes causales de la enfermedad a diferentes especies como N. parvum (42%), N. australe (17%), N. luteum (15%) y N. mediterraneum (2%); Colletotrichum gloeosporioides (22%) y Lasioplodia theobromae (2%), en aguacate; y N. parvum y N. luteum, en mango. La incipiente incidencia de estos patógenos constituyen una serie amenaza en el futuro para los cultivos de aguacate y mango en esta área.
