El Fondo de Música Tradicional CSIC-IMF en la era digital: la base de datos http://musicatradicional.eu como recurso de investigación etnomusicológica

Abstract

La Institución Milá y Fontanals (IMF) del CSIC en Barcelona alberga un Fondo de Música Tradicional con ca. 20.000 canciones de tradición oral. Fueron recogidas en papel a través de Misiones y Concursos (1944-1960) organizados por el antiguo Instituto Español de Musicología en los que participaron 47 recopiladores. El Fondo cuenta además con fichas informativas de ca. 4.500 personas (de ca. 4.000 localidades) que interpretaron esas piezas, así como valiosa documentación etnográfica. La catalogación y digitalización de este Fondo se está llevando a cabo en equipo a través del portal web y base de datos http://musicatradicional.eu, que constituye un buen ejemplo de recurso musicológico en la era digital y que ya han consultado más de 50.000 usuarios de 130 países. Esta comunicación presenta una reflexión metodológica e historiográfica a partir del proceso de creación y desarrollo de la mencionada base de datos. La era digital proporciona nuevas herramientas, como crowdsourcing (colaboración abierta) y redes sociales, que, en combinación con gran cantidad de materiales multimodales de diversas épocas, ofrecen un poliédrico panorama de la música de tradición oral en España. La nueva situación invita a revalorizar recopilaciones de “folklore musical” —habitualmente relegadas o ignoradas en las últimas décadas en favor de aproximaciones antropológicas— con el fin de superar una dicotomía que ha perdido sentido en la era digital.
