The purpose of this short review article is to give an overview of fluorinated dendrimers that self-organise producing liquid-crystalline (LC) properties and specifically to describe the different effects that the incorporation of fluorine has on their supramolecular organisation. Special emphasis is made on dendrimers modified in their periphery with fluorinated moieties.
S.H-A. thanks the MICINN (Spain) for a FPU grant. Financial support from the MINECO (Spain), under the project CTQ2012-35692, which included FEDER funding, and the Government of Aragón, under the project E04, is gratefully acknowledged.
